“I haven’t always wanted to be a writer, but I’ve always been a reader. Mother must have put books in my crib; I can’t remember a time when the printed page didn’t captivate me. Right out of college I was a reporter for a crusading West Texas newspaper, a trial by fire if there ever was one, and I soon switched to the noble profession of teaching.

In the early ’80s, with children grown and husband devoted to his work, I decided to try the creative process. Right away I was hooked. It took a couple of years for my prose to find a publishing home. Five years later I quit my day job (middle school librarian) and here I am still hooked by the whole idea of creating a story for others to read.”
