FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DORCHESTER LAUNCHES TEEN FICTION LINE

Ever miss your carefree high school days? The back-to-school fashion frenzies and boy-crazy phone chats? Relive it all with Dorchester's newest imprint—SMOOCH, a special line geared toward teen girls.

The SMOOCH imprint will consist of several hip, fun contemporary and paranormal series, geared toward girls ages 12-16. Launch promotions include:

  • Partnership with j.a.n.e. cosmetics—a special makeup offer for our readers will appear in the back of The Year My Life Went Down the Loo by Katie Maxwell.
  • Sponsorship of seventeen.com's Diva Fiction club
  • A teen writing contest in conjunction with YM magazine
  • The launch of a brand new website at www.smoochya.com, where readers can learn about our books, give feedback, submit their writing, and enter contests
  • Advertising in VOYA and the July 21 issue of Publishers Weekly

One book will be released every month, starting with the following titles:

September: THE YEAR MY LIFE WENT DOWN THE LOO by Katie Maxwell—When sixteen-year-old Emily's family uproots her from Seattle to England right before her junior year, she has to adjust to a whole new lingo, new friends and, worst of all, no malls. Emily's story of her dating woes, her haunted underwear drawer, and the horrors of having to wear a school uniform are told in a series of e-mails to her best friend back home in Seattle. The Year My Life Went Down the Loo is the first of four books chronicling Emily's year in Britain.

October: A GIRL, A GUY & A GHOST by Sherrie Rose—Traci Nettleton is in seventh heaven when the gorgeous quarterback on the football team asks her out. But then she gets a mysterious e-mail from her best friend who died two years ago. Is someone playing a cruel practical joke, or does Corky really need her help? Traci plans to find out-her new romance depends on it.

November: THE REAL DEAL: FOCUS ON THIS! by Amy Kaye—The newest reality television series goes on location somewhere truly dangerous-high school. Outrageous and unscripted, each episode exposes the sickest gossip, finds the facts behind the rumors, and bares the raw truth. Tune in and take it all in, because no subject is too taboo, no secret too private, and no behavior off limits!

December: MY LIFE AS A SNOW BUNNY by Kaz Delaney—Who knew Colorado was Hunk Heaven? Not Jo Vincent. It's not like Jo's going to get any attention from her dad. He brought his own aprs-ski entertainment-her name is Kate. But when an adorable ski instructor with a rather strange Swiss accent begins showing Jo some special attention, those icy slopes suddenly get much warmer.

"I've always been a huge fan of the young-adult genre, and I'm thrilled with the talented authors we have writing for this line," said Kate Seaver, editor for the new imprint.

Dorchester Publishing Co., Inc., founded in 1971, is one of the oldest independent publishers of mass-market books in North America.
